Company History

TEXAS CRANE SERVICES was founded in 1976. It is the oldest and largest crane rental service in San Antonio and Austin. The company's main business activities are providing crane services fully manned and maintained as well as bare rental and crane sales. TEXAS CRANE SERVICES has offices in San Antonio and Austin and serves the Central and South Texas region.

TEXAS CRANE SERVICES was founded as H & H Crane Service. In November of 1992 the company was purchased by a local San Antonio owner. In July of 1995 the name of the company was changed from H & H Crane Service to TEXAS CRANE SERVICES. This name change was done to enhance the company's image and position it to serve a broader market. Soon after this name change the company underwent sweeping management changes and sales skyrocketed. During the period from 1992 to the end of 1997 the company's sales have increased by over 40% annually. And the company's fleet size has tripled. In July of 1996 TEXAS CRANE SERVICES purchased Capital Cranes in Austin from Faulkner Construction Company. This purchase gave it a much stronger presence in Austin. Sales jumped dramatically in Austin as a result of the purchase. In this same year additions were made to the company's sales force that lead to a further broadening of it's customer base. This again had a positive impact on the company's sales.

In a continuing effort to further the company's long term strategy of broadening its geographical market and its customer base, in 1999 TEXAS CRANE SERVICES entered into the Tower Crane rental and sales market. This market entry was a conservative one but has proven to be a positive step towards increasing the company's revenues. Tower Cranes now make up almost a third of the company's crane fleet and by the end of the first quarter of 2002 utilization was 100%.

The goal of a 20% annual rate growth through the year 2000 had been set for the company. This goal was exceeded by over 7% annually. Since the introduction of Tower Cranes to the company's fleet TEXAS CRANE SERVICES is expecting to grow revenues at an annual rate of 5% through 2005. Because of developing economic conditions in the third and fourth quarters of 2001 the company's projected growth rate is more conservative than in previous years. The company has also added a comprehensive cost control initiative to its short term business strategy. By employing an extensive and updated purchase order procedure and a more effective labor cost control plan the company expects to improve its bottom line profitability.

Local ownership, managerial changes, and a broadening of the company's market base have served to make TEXAS CRANE SERVICES the largest and most professional crane service in all of Central Texas, South Texas, and the Rio Grande Valley. The company intends to further solidify it's stronghold in it's main service market through more acquisitions and expansion of it's customer base.

Statement of Business

"TEXAS CRANE SERVICES continuously strives to provide quality, on-time and safe service and products to every Customer."

This statement is presented to clarify to everyone, customers and employees alike, the most compelling advantage a customer will gain by doing business with TEXAS CRANE and it's employees. What does TCS do that puts the company head and shoulders above all of our competitors? What are our strengths?

There are two most important things that separate us from our competitors. These two things are the quality of our employees and safety before price.

We will always conduct ourselves as professionals and will always be courteous to our customers. The customer's well being should always be our focus. TCS employees are well groomed and dress professionally. Our equipment is kept in safe working order and presented to our customers in professional, tip-top working condition.

Secondly, from job-sizing to service and product price quotes to billing; from on-time service to service and product quality statements; to standards of safety, our customers should never be mislead. If we are going to be late for a job or not meet a product delivery deadline we will call our customers and tell them. If we cannot do a customer's job safely we will tell them. We will never charge our customer more than what was agreed to. If dropping our prices means sacrificing any of these service standards, then we will not drop prices. Our customers can always rely on us. Each employee should take every opportunity to enthusiastically tell our customers about the quality and reliability of our operators, our equipment, our service people, and our products.

Remember, TCS's statement of business is what will trigger our name to come up in our customer's mind whenever they think about our service or products. Every TEXAS CRANE employee should believe in and use this statement of business. They should make it a part of everything they do in their efforts to service and sell to our customers. Everyone who is a member of this organization should believe in and live up to their company's statement of business. Nothing else is acceptable.
